YI worries a lot about WU who has been absentminded. She tells YANG about WU. YANG knows that WU is worrying over love affairs and tries to comfort him. RUN is sad to learn that TONG loves LAN. LAN refuses TONG and it is a big blow to him. WU feels that he has let TONG down and he looks distracted. TONG is very depressed; RUN sympathizes. She encourages TONG not to give up on LAN.
